Having just returned to the UK from my 5th visit this year to the
Spanish town of Los Montesinos and having been to numerous Hotels and
restaurants within the region I was amazed that such a fabulous
restaurant could be found in a relatively obscure position in a small
town.
Everything is right about this place which I believe I visited in its
first week of trading under new ownership. Besides being spotlessly
clean with great decor ,``continental contemporary``, great background
music, hence the name I guess,the service was fantastic,with friendly
staff,locals and visitors making you welcome and the food well what can
I say ! With four people at our table vying over each others plates we
ended up passing our plates around to each other as they were all so
good. Can highly recommend the calves liver or the sword fish ,mind you
the lamb was good as well,the chocolate cake made from fresh Belgium
chocolate was the best .Having visited Dubai`s 5 star Hotels over the
last few years this chef was a complete surprise and deserves someone
to
shout about his dishes. I believe the menu will be changed monthly so
we
will be paying further visits on my trips from the UK.
I know little about Spanish wines and could have done with a little
description on the menu but they had that rare bottle of Saphire Gin,
hard to find in that region !

"Whenever I´m in Santa Pola I always spend at least one evening at Le Sal opposite the new marina. It has a lovely terrace. I have got to know the staff and like to meet friends there for tapas in the evening. They do all the traditional Spanish stuff like calamares and patatas bravas. There is also a posh restaurant part upstairs where I tried arroz negro for the first time. "
"Cada vez que estoy en Santa Pola paso siempre por lo menos una noche en La Sal enfrente a la marina nueva. Tiene una terraza preciosa y los empleados son muy simpáticos; me encanta quedar con mis amigos y tomar unas tapas tradicionales como calamares a la romana y patatas bravas en un ambiente tan agradable. La sal tiene también un restaurante sobrio y elegante en la primera planta donde he probado arroz negro por primera vez en mi vida…. delicioso"
